When we first discussed a theme for our 2016 conference we wanted to challenge our community to “rise up” and to stand together. We are strong when we come together. When we link arms, as one Church, to serve alongside of one another then incredible things are possible.
However, in searching God’s word and in prayer, we realize we might be missing something more important. We want to call on God to “rise up” on our behalf. In the Bible, this is a recurring theme when you search the term “rise up,” especially in the book of Psalms. For example:
Rise up and help us;
rescue us because of your unfailing love.
Psalm 44:26 (NIV)
Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Psalm 94:16 (NIV)
This year, we want to challenge our conference guests to come together and take a stand. Let us resolve to unite as God’s people, for the cause of Christ. However, the work of children’s ministry is so much bigger than our collective ministries. We want to ask God to rise up and lead on behalf of the children and for His Kingdom!
