Yesterday, we celebrated eight years since our ministry launched. Our focus has always been on serving leaders in children’s ministry. We believe training leaders in local churches is the best way to reach children. One estimate, based on our members’ self-reporting, shows our network has reached over thirty-one million children! Through the years, our team has been blessed to participate, or partially fund, trainings in Lebanon, Egypt, Ukraine, Mexico, Hong Kong, Uganda, Rwanda, Colombia, Belize and more.
Two years ago, we became a 501c3, tax-deductible nonprofit ministry. We’ve been working to transform our ministry, which began as a social network, to a missional organization. God has provided at every step of the way. He is stretching us!
Today, we are looking forward to what’s next. Many of you have noticed the changes to our branding, our new website and our new emphasis to advocate for under-resourced leaders. What you may not know is the “why” connected to what we do. We exist to connect, serve and advance those called to children’s ministry. We have an emphasis on serving the under-resourced church. Our earnest desire is to live out the example set forth by the first century church in the book of Acts.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common.Acts 2: 42-44
For our part, we want to share what talents and resources are available to us with our community. Specifically, we want to leverage everything we have to lift up church leaders who are in need. This is why we provide such a generous scholarship program for our conference. It’s why our network started out as a free community and it’s why it will always remain free. It’s also why we are now beginning to focus more of our efforts on advocating for support of leaders in under-developed regions of the world.
Now, for the first time ever, we need to ask our community for support. We’ve funded the work of CMConnect from personal resources for the last eight years. We’re looking to the future and asking for our community to stand with us as we advance these local ministries who are serving children in dynamic and incredible ways.
Our new budget is going to stretch our work and allow our ministry to grow. We are asking for 311 new donors to support us with $1 a day over the next year. This will fund our ministry and the projects we have already launched.
Will you set aside $1 a day to help us grow these strategic partnerships?
Will you stand with us in support of serving leaders of children’s ministries around the world?
Are you with us?
$1 a day is about thirty-one dollars a month…. think of it as a buck for each of the million children represented by our community! The funds we collect will go to advance the work of people who know the importance of reaching children with the gospel.
Please stand with us in prayer and support today!
